Bob and Joan Reynolds moved to DeWitt in 1986. Bob is a Central DeWitt graduate and continued his education at Clinton Community College with an Associate Degree. Bob was a Teamster, having worked 37 years for Union Freight Companies in the Quad Cities until his retirement. Joan is a native of Boscobel Wisconsin. She is a graduate of Marycrest College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She completed a 42 year nursing career with Genesis Health System.
Bob and Joan’s three children are graduates of Central DeWitt High School. They instilled in their children a strong work ethic and the importance of education and helping others.
Their children furthered their education at Creighton University, University of Northern Iowa, St. Ambrose College, University of Iowa School of Library and Information Science Graduate College, University of Iowa College of Law, and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
Bob and Joan introduced their children to golf at a young age. Their children were all members of the Central DeWitt Golf teams throughout their four years of high school, and all three made a trip to the state golf tournament.
Their sons experienced the many hours of hard work involved with maintaining a golf course through jobs at Springbrook Country Club. Their children all learned the enjoyment of golf, as well as the dedication, self discipline and commitment to the game.
It is with this thought that they have established their scholarships, to provide some assistance with further education. They would like their scholarships to be awarded each year to one male and one female golfer.
